Poles' favorite country is burning. The fire has reached the coast.

A fire broke out in Jesenice on the Adriatic coast overnight from Sunday to Monday. Just when it seemed the situation was under control, the winds caused the blaze to intensify again. All available resources were deployed to extinguish the blaze, but the battle is still ongoing. Jesenice is located right by the sea, near the popular cities of Split and the resort town of Omiš. According to the latest information, approximately 250 hectares of pine forest have already burned.
Another dangerous fire in CroatiaCroatia and other Balkan countries are facing another wave of wildfires. As at the beginning of the summer holidays, this time the blaze also attacked areas adjacent to popular tourist destinations. On the night from Sunday to Monday, flames were spotted near Jesenice, near Split. Firefighters quickly began extinguishing the pine forest, but strong winds prevented the blaze from being contained. "According to the latest official information, the source of the fire in Jesenice has not yet been identified," writes Slobodna Dalmatia in an article published Tuesday morning.
Difficult situation in other European countriesAccording to tvn24.pl, tourists traveling to Albania and Montenegro will also face difficult conditions. Earlier this week, fires broke out near the tourist towns of Canj and Buljarica, as well as near the town of Tepelena. In both cases, the fires were eventually extinguished, but the risk remains high.
Fire warnings have also recently been issued in Spain. In this country, popular with Poles, the threat to tourists was so severe that hotels were even evacuated. The heatwave on the Iberian Peninsula continues, with temperatures expected to exceed 40 degrees Celsius in many cities this week. The situation is also very serious in Portugal and France.
