Iga Świątek was asked about Daria Abramowicz. Her answer may put an end to speculation.
The Polish tennis player has had a challenging few months. After the disappointment of the Paris Olympics and the autumn scandal surrounding the detection of trace amounts of an illegal substance in her system, the process of regaining balance took a long time. The lack of victories in prestigious tournaments, despite high expectations in the country, generated increasing speculation about the merits of working with Daria Abramowicz. Direct suggestions emerged in the media that the Polish tennis player should consider changing her psychologist. After her victory at Wimbledon, such voices will likely subside, at least for a while.
Świątek on the influence of the coaching staff and Daria Abramowicz on success at WimbledonAt the press conference, the tennis player herself explained precisely how her team operates and why she has no intention of changing anything. Asked about the team's influence on Wimbledon success, she replied: "This success isn't a one-time event, and the work we do actually brings results," the Polish player stated, as quoted by sport.pl.
Świątek continued her statement by emphasizing her unwavering trust in her team, including her psychologist. "Although there are easier and harder moments, as well as personal mistakes and inappropriate mental attitudes, especially at the beginning of the season, I am convinced that my team's guidance and cooperation with Daria make a profound difference and are part of a long-term process," the tennis player noted.

Świątek is one of those people who values stability, even in relationships with her team. That's why it's important to her to have proven individuals on her team who know her intimately. "I emphasized this right after the victory, but I'll repeat: it's invaluable to me that most of the people on my team have known me for years and we trust each other. This allows them to understand my needs at any given moment. Without the experience of my team, and especially without Daria, I wouldn't be here – both mentally and physically, we did an excellent job that made this success possible," she said.
It was this job that gave Świątek success in LondonThis year's Wimbledon champion explained her focus after the recent Roland Garros. She added that her success in London was the result of decisions she and her team made several weeks ago. The victory only confirmed they were right.
"Regarding the style I presented myself in this tournament, I can say that, starting at Roland Garros, I focused more intensively on mental work, on how to manage myself. The truth is that although everyone can give advice, and Daria can offer tips, ultimately it's me who has to implement those recommendations on the court. What happened here began a few weeks ago and was a kind of confirmation of this path. Overall, all the recent tournaments have been successful, and I'm simply happy that I took on this work in this way," sport.pl quotes our champion as saying.
Iga Świątek's historic successIga Świątek made tennis history by winning her first title on the grass courts of Wimbledon. Previously associated primarily with her dominance on Parisian clay, the Polish player proved she can triumph even on the most demanding and unpredictable surfaces.
The final was a true display of strength. Amanda Anisimova had no arguments to stop the rallying Świątek, who won 6-0, 6-0. Such a one-sided result in a title match at Wimbledon was last seen over 100 years ago – in 1910. This wasn't just a spectacular victory, but also Iga's 100th Grand Slam victory.
