Draconian punishment for football club! 94 points deducted

The Romanian Football Federation (FRF) has severely punished third-division side FC U Craiova 1948. The club has already been deducted a total of 94 points for outstanding payments to former players, coaches and Dinamo Bucharest, Voetbal International reported.
The penalty points were imposed because Craiova failed to settle several obligations. These include outstanding salaries and bonuses for former players and coaches, as well as financial obligations to Dinamo Bucharest arising from the Romanian Cup match in 2023. Failure to meet these obligations results in the accumulation of penalty points – 94 in total. These were not imposed as a single penalty, but rather as a cumulative measure against the club's previous sanctions announced by the association.

Craiova also failed to obtain a license to play in the second division and will be required to start the new season in the third tier. The association has given the club until 3:00 PM on September 3rd to provide proof of payment. Failure to do so will result in additional sanctions, including suspension from all competitions. The final decision is expected on September 25th.
Owner Adrian Mititelu disagrees with the fines, claiming they are unfounded. He emphasizes that all decisions will be subject to appeal.
"I don't question the existence of these debts. The club was unable to repay them after a politically backed clone (FC Universitatea Craiova) appeared in the city. The matter will be finally resolved. We will not be excluded," he told the Romanian press.
Mititelu announced that he would take legal steps to ensure that the national federation changes its leader within a maximum of nine months.
