Jack White received an interesting gift for his 50th birthday. Most of us have had this since childhood.

In an age where technology is an integral part of our daily lives, it's hard to imagine life without a cell phone. Until recently, Jack White, guitarist and vocalist for The White Stripes, had no problem with this. On July 9th, the artist celebrated his 50th birthday, receiving his first cell phone as a gift. He shared the gift from his wife, Olivia, on Instagram.
"Well, folks, this is the end for me, or just the beginning. For the first time in my life, I'm a reluctant cell phone owner! " White announced in an Instagram post.
The artist explained that he owed this to his wife, who, as he further described, decided to make his life a little easier.
In the published post, the artist admitted that for some time he had been bothered by the fact that, due to constantly evolving technology taking over ever-larger spaces of everyday life, he could barely perform basic tasks and constantly had to ask for help. Now he is entering the world of technological independence.
"My days have been numbered for years. I couldn't listen to music in the car, I couldn't park in the parking lot by myself because of QR codes, etc., etc. I guess my wife Olivia decided to be kind and end my suffering and that of my loved ones," the musician added.
Clearly unsure about this new adventure, White did not hide his pride in having reached 50 without needing a cell phone.
