The participants' works were displayed in Gallery 108 of the Stargard Cultural Centre, in the Drawing and Painting Studio, which opened in February this year.
The revived studio is led by Piotr Kosmal, a visual artist from SCK. Its participants include those just starting out in art, experienced artists from the Malachit painting group, and the Stargard Association of Visual Arts Enthusiasts BRAMA.
– I never thought I would paint one day – said Iwona, a former city hall clerk who discovered her new passion in retirement.
Art classes were held on Tuesdays in two groups from 12-2 p.m. and 5-7 p.m.
"I'm pleased," commented Piotr Kosmal at the opening. "The girls have made a lot of progress. They were thrown in at the deep end, but they're all swimming, so that's good."
The exhibition presented at Galeria 108 is the result of 5 months of work by 16 women and one man.
– The effect is so fantastic – comments Joanna Tomczak, director of SCK.
The following people took part in the classes: Anna Bielańska, Mirosława Jarmakowska, Beata Maldzis, Katarzyna Traczyk, Marta Proskurowska, Iwona Skoczylas, Bożena Socik, Beata Szarmach, Danuta Szudzichowska, Anna Wilk, Ewa Bartoszewska, Sławomir Kotchendoff, Honorata Matyga, Halina Pilarczyk, Paulina Rutkowska, Katarzyna Szkolnicka and Dorota Żukowska.
The music for the opening was provided by the band 6 Bieg, featuring Wiesław Jurczyk and Stanisław Kolarczyk. Piotr Kosmal played harmonica.
After the summer break, classes under the supervision of Piotr Kosmal will begin in October. ©℗
