Jarosław's fairs once held considerable significance for the city, contributing to its economic and cultural development. Today, although on a smaller scale, this tradition continues in the form of the annual Jarosław Fair, held during the summer (a reference to the largest August fair, which once lasted four weeks, but now lasts four days). This year's fair, as usual, began with a colorful procession from the Krakow Gate, through the Market Square, and to the stage where Jarosław's mayor, Marcin Nazarewicz, handed the key to the city gates to merchant Wilhelm Orsetti. That day, attendees were entertained by the CK Kapela band, and at the end of the evening, everyone was invited to a dance with the "Fajerka" band. This was just a foretaste of the fair's events. The following day featured mainly theatrical performances by the Baccalaures Theatre, the Open Theatre, and the Mozaika Theatre, and for dessert, attendees were treated to a concert entitled "Our Best" by the Lublin Bard Federation. The fair also celebrates ancient crafts, so visitors could observe shoemakers, blacksmiths, armorers, and executioners at work. This vibrant event, drawing on Jarosław's multicultural history, ancient merchant gatherings, and the aromas and flavors of the city, allowed visitors to travel back in time and experience the atmosphere of a bygone town whose market square, arcades, and cellars once served as a haven for traders. Visitors could sample aromatic dishes, visit a medieval campsite, and admire a spectacular fireworks spectacle. The icing on the cake was the coronation of Bolesław the Brave, organized as part of the celebrations of the 1,000th anniversary of the coronation of Poland's first king.
