Nurses and Midwives Day. County celebrations in Gryfino

On Friday, 9th this month, the Gryfino District Office celebrated International Nurses and Midwives Day.
The event, which had a nine-year break, was well attended by nursing and midwifery staff. Several short speeches accompanying the ceremony emphasized that both medical professions play a key role in providing health care. That caring for the sick and suffering cannot be overestimated. But also that these are some of the most stressed professional groups, which are caused by, among other things, long hours on duty, shift work, unsatisfactory pay levels, and staff shortages. So there were many beautiful wishes for people who professionally and from the heart accompany another person in their most difficult and most important moments of life - from birth to death.
The event was an opportunity to honor nurse Elżbieta Dudarewicz, who worked for 48 years in one position in one facility - in the Reception Room of the District Hospital in Gryfino. Gratitude for her work - service that was difficult and demanding, but also noble and commanding respect was conveyed by those present at the ceremony: Gabriela Hofman, chairwoman of the Szczecin Chamber of Nurses and Midwives, and Jan Ślęzak, chairman of the Supreme Court of Nurses and Midwives. The representatives of both medical professions present at the ceremony - ladies and gentlemen (there were two nurses) - were also given their wishes by the Gryfino district governor Ewa Dudar, who assumed honorary patronage of the event, and the president of the local hospital Andrzej Krzemiński.
The artistic part, led by Janusz Janiszewski, featured the “Fajne Babki” theatre group from Chojna, and beautiful melodies were played by Dawid Molasy, a 24-year-old on the autism spectrum. The event was accompanied by an exhibition of art works submitted to the competition entitled “The profession of a nurse and midwife through the eyes of children” organised by the District Sanitary and Epidemiological Station in Gryfino. The winners of the competition were honoured during Friday's ceremony; the laureates were students from the Branch School in Witnica, which is part of the School Complex in Moryń: Aleksandra Abratańska – 1st place, Maximilian Bieniek – 2nd place and Berenika Konstańczuk – 3rd place; distinctions were awarded to: Lena Kurlej from Primary School No. 1 in Gryfino, Maria Ożarowska from Primary School Trzcińsko-Zdrój and Anastazja Akronik from Primary School in Banie. The awards were presented by Wioletta Rożko, the principal of the institution organizing the art competition. There was a lottery with prizes donated by local entrepreneurs and a delicious treat prepared by the community of the Secondary School Complex in Gryfino. The whole event was supervised by the main organizer of the event, Edyta Molasy-Malinowska, a representative of SIPiP in the Gryfino district.
