New international cooperation of the Prusice Commune

The Prusice commune officially began international cooperation with the German commune of Bennewitz. A symbolic moment was the ceremonial signing of an agreement by the mayor of Prusice, Igor Bandrowicz, and the mayor of Bennewitz, Bernd Laqua. The ceremony took place in the German town and marked the beginning of a relationship that is to be based on long-term cooperation.

During the visit, the delegation from Prusice participated in a number of official and integration meetings. It was also an opportunity to participate in local events, especially sports events, including the 24th Dieter Lehmann Tournament. During the tournament, the mayors jointly presented awards to young football players – both boys and girls. Although both mayors failed to score a goal during their symbolic attempts, the Secretary of the Prusice Commune, Grzegorz Terebun, showed off his effectiveness by hitting the net at his first attempt.

The next day of the stay in Bennewitz was also active. Representatives of both communes participated in sports events, such as runs and Nordic walking. The competition attracted residents of all ages – children, youth and adults. The best competitors were awarded diplomas and distinctions, which were presented by a representative of the Polish side. The delegation from Prusice also had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the local system of supporting sports.

The partnership with Bennewitz opens up new opportunities for the residents of the Prusice Commune – both in terms of education, culture, and joint sports and social initiatives. The German commune, located in the Saxony state, is known for its involvement in local development and civic activity, which makes it a valuable partner for the implementation of future joint projects.
