It was murder. New findings from the prosecutor's office.

On the night of Monday to Tuesday, August 11-12, a tragedy occurred in Żmigród. According to the information we received, a woman had killed her husband. The news spread quickly and shocked the town's residents. What really happened, and what have the police and prosecutors confirmed?

We covered the matter in an article published last week titled "Tragedy behind closed doors."

" A criminal incident occurred overnight. Officers on site, under the supervision of the prosecutor, conducted an investigation to determine and clarify the circumstances. Due to its nature, the incident has been placed under investigation by the prosecutor," said Deputy Inspector Daria Szydłowska of the Police Headquarters in Trzebnica.

Our source told us that it happened at night, and that a woman and a man were led out of the apartment in handcuffs. However, our source didn't know whether the woman had killed the man she was now living with, or her ex-partner, who had supposedly returned to her. We began investigating this information. However, conversations with neighbors didn't answer our questions. We also learned that a child was reportedly in the apartment where the tragedy occurred. We called the prosecutor's office, but due to the ongoing investigation and preliminary findings, District Attorney Sebastian Chudaszek only confirmed that the death occurred at 2:00 AM.

We contacted the prosecutor's office again to learn about the latest findings. It turns out that the hypothesis that the woman killed the man who lived with her has been confirmed. She pleaded guilty. The prosecutor told us that he was not her husband, nor were they in a cohabitation relationship. Among the items seized that could have been used to commit the murder is a knife, but the exact weapon used is still being determined. The two people arrested with her were questioned as witnesses and released. The prosecutor confirmed that her child was in the apartment at the time of the murder, but he did not witness the murder. The murdered man was not his father.
