For Steenbergen, World Cup gold feels like revenge for the Games in Paris

"I can't choose between this gold medal and last year's," Steenbergen told NOS. "But this one is nice because of the season I've had. And coming back like this after the Olympics is really good for me. I also wanted to compete for medals in Paris. It was a shame that didn't work out. But here we are now, and I should draw a lot of confidence from this world title."
Steenbergen overtook her competitors in the second half of the race. "It was very exciting. Normally I'm not really nervous, but now I am. I was confident I could do this. Mollie O'Callaghan can come back very strongly, so I knew I had to keep up the pace."
