A4, after the summer records, 9 construction sites are coming

After a record-breaking summer, with nearly 21 million vehicles traveling on the network (recording a historic peak of over 8% in June), Autostrade Alto Adriatico is revving up its construction sites. The concessionaire has resumed intensive maintenance work to resurface and modernize the highway network.
In the autumn alone, nine construction sites are planned, with an investment of 900 thousand euros, which will lead to the creation of over 57,600 square meters of new pavement.
The affected sections include key points on the A4 (between Meolo, Quarto d'Altino, San Donà di Piave, and Portogruaro) and the A28 (between Pordenone, Sacile, and Godega). Some work has already been successfully completed over the past few nights, without causing significant traffic disruption.
The most challenging work, due to its 2.2 kilometers of length and the need for extensive rehabilitation, will involve the three-lane section of the A4 motorway between Meolo/Roncade and San Donà di Piave in the direction of Trieste. This worksite will proceed continuously, day and night, with a lane changeover scheduled between 11:00 PM on Saturday the 4th and 4:00 AM on Thursday the 9th. Two lanes will be maintained at all times, avoiding complete closures.
Furthermore, starting Monday, October 6, construction work will resume on the central traffic island between Redipuglia and the Trieste/Lisert toll booth. Work was suspended to ease summer traffic and address the emergency closure of the Slovenian H4 highway. €8.3 million has been allocated for this additional project. The lanes will be narrowed (from 7.50 to 6.40 meters), but two lanes in each direction will be maintained to minimize disruption.
