The La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra in concert at Ferrara Music

The Scala Philharmonic returns in concert at Ferrara Musica, Monday 6 October at 6pm at the Teatro Claudio Abbado Municipal Theatre, for one of the most anticipated events of the 2025/2026 season, which inaugurates: on the podium Michele Mariotti, the current musical director of the Teatro dell'Opera di Rome and the former Teatro Comunale of Bologna. For this return in the city of Este, after two years, the Milanese orchestra (founded in 1982 by the very giant of the podium who is now entitled the Municipal, Claudio Abbado) will propose a program which combines two very famous pieces: the Second Concerto for violin and orchestra "La campanella" by Niccolò Paganini, composed in 1826, and Johannes's Fourth Symphony in E minor Brahms, written between 1884 and 1885. The soloist in the Concerto by the Genoese composer will be Giuseppe Gibboni, the first Italian violinist to win the Paganini Prize, in 2021, after 24 years, and already a guest of Ferrara Musica in 2022. The evening is one of the highlights of the program of Ferrara Musica, characterized by various events with some of the best Italian and international orchestras (Chamber Orchestra of Europe, Luzerner Sinfonieorchester, Byzantine Academy, Spira Mirabilis Orchestra, Bamberg Symphoniker), led by great conductors (Antonio Pappano, Manfred Honeck, Roberto Abbado). The concert is therefore a special occasion for the public. Ferrara, which is no coincidence that it is sold out: the Filarmonica della Scala is one of the greatest orchestras in the world world, capable of consolidating a prominent position over the years in the international music scene thanks to the quality absolute of its instrumentalists and collaborations with important artists. To deepen your knowledge of the Brahmsian symphonism, Ferrara Musica also organized a conference by musicologist Giorgio Pestelli, author of the volume published by Donzelli "Brahms' Symphonies. A journey beyond the classicism" - which will be held on Monday 6 October at 4.30 pm at Reduced price at the Teatro Comunale. Admission is free.
