Steven Clemons is the winner of the 2025 Urbino Award

The American journalist and entrepreneur will be in the Marche city on November 22nd to collect the award

Urbino, October 3, 2025 - Steven Clemons , renowned journalist and entrepreneur, is the winner of the Urbino Award, now in its 19th year . This was announced by the Italian Ambassador to the United States, Marco Peronaci, during an event hosted last night in the capital, Washington, DC.
"The Urbino Award, " said Peronaci, " is 19 years old , but it remains young in spirit. It has the ability to build a bridge between Italy and America. The 2025 edition honors one of the most experienced journalists, a versatile personality, and a great cultural promoter. On November 22nd, the event we launched here will continue in Urbino. All this will help Italy present itself as a cultural player, at the center of a reflection on a country, the United States, which is undergoing great change, with significant challenges but also great opportunities for us Italians."
The winner's words: "I receive this award," said Steven Clemons, "with great humility and pride. I am interested in what Urbino represents: culture, art, but above all, thought and dialogue. A city that has historically placed humanity and the community's progress at the center of its actions."
"In 2025," adds Urbino's Councilor for Tourism, Francesco Guazzolini, "we are honoring a personality with international charisma. Steven Clemons knows how to unite opposing ideas and facilitate dialogue between individuals with different orientations. This approach is perfectly consistent with the history of our city."
The award, dedicated to the world of American information, is organized by the Municipality of Urbino in collaboration with the Urbino Award association.
The Washington event was also attended by the prize's founder , Giovanni Lani , and Gabriele Cavalera , head of the Urbino City Council's Communications Department. The ceremony was also attended by Italian and American journalists, including the 2011 winner of the Helene Cooper Prize, U.S. administration officials, and business leaders.
The award's main sponsors are Cafè Milano - Georgetown Entertainment Group and Intesa Sanpaolo, with the support of the Center for American Studies.
