Francesco Favara, Provincial Secretary of Uil Firefighters, does not mince his words: “We regret that such an important issue as that of citizen safety is being addressed without real knowledge, without listening to the voice of us Firefighters who suffer the consequences of an unsustainable shortage of personnel every day. The emergency technical rescue system is in crisis and will continue to be so! What the Honorable Pellicini fails to say is that, since it is a question of mobility, in addition to the incoming personnel there will also be those leaving and this difference will not resolve the serious shortage suffered by the Firefighters of the province”.
Just a few days ago Favara had raised the alarm denouncing how the Fire Brigade was now on the verge of collapse ( here is the article ).
