2 A festival of printmaking techniques, with Marie-Atina Goldet
Marie Atina Goldet
Bègles. Marie-Atina Goldet, born in 1979 and based in Bègles, co-founder of Joyeuse Coquille with Iris Dickson nearly ten years ago, unveils "Mère gigogne." A solo exhibition where her works navigate between two of her favorite techniques: intaglio engraving, where the artist meticulously incises a copper or zinc plate so that the ink, nestled in the hollows, is revealed on the pressed paper, and risography, a technique similar to screen printing, which relies on a cold and stencil printing process.
Opening reception Friday, May 23, from 6 p.m. Free admission Wednesday to Saturday, 2 p.m. to 7 p.m. carbet.fr

Frey/Dorange/Glénat
Bordeaux. Julien Frey and Sylvain Dorange will be in Mollat signing copies of their comic book "White Only," published by Vents d'ouest. In "White Only," comic book author Julien Frey tells the forgotten story of Althea Gibson, the first Black female tennis player. Born in Harlem (a New York City neighborhood) in 1927, the young woman managed to win the biggest tennis tournaments. Unthinkable at first, at a time when American competitions organized by whites were forbidden to Black people.
Saturday, May 24, at 3 p.m., Mollat, rue Vital-Carles.
5 Nature Festival: a clown comes out of her jar
Olivier Iglesias
Floirac. After "A Shoe in the Jar," created in June 2022, based on "The Little Mermaid" and "The Red Shoes" by Hans Christian Andersen, "Le Bocal" by the Entre les gouttes company offers an even more immersive version, where the character in metamorphosis tells his story through these two tales.
