The Montmartre Almanac brings a breath of fresh air to the Butte

FOOD REVIEW - In a neighborhood long plagued by falsely spring-like restaurants, this unashamedly charming bistro is sure to delight.
Skip the ad Skip the adHow can we not recall, fifteen years earlier, those falsely spring-like restaurants that were trying to bring down the neighborhood? The level is rising, and this one, with its jaunty appearance, is among the very latest to breathe new life into a rather rebellious restaurant, or at least without complexes.
Price: around €45-56, set menus at €20 and €24 (lunch). Soft-boiled egg and vegetable sabayon: well-dressed. Monkfish blanquette: bisque and volume. Pear-umeboshi tartlet with white tea whipped cream: seductive.
With whom? Firefighter, postman, scout…
Good food: the little green bench. Relaxed service.
The Montmartre Almanac. 33, rue Ramey (Paris 18th ). Tel.: 01 53 41 13 45. Every day. Metro: Château-Rouge.
