Rugby, Reichel hopes for promotion: the Périgourdins may have some regrets

Defeated by Suresnes, the Capistes showed some good things. It wasn't enough to win their last home match.
"We're dying at one point, and that's a bit of a reflection of our four or five matches this season." Frustrated, the Capistes can be. This Saturday, at Dantou, Robert Chassagnac and Pierrick Potard's hopefuls lost to Suresnes by a single point (27-28). "We can have regrets, we're getting too many cards. We played with 13 men, so it's difficult to compete, because we're leaving a lot of juice," explains Robert Chassagnac.
The Capistes did have chances, as evidenced by these four tries scored. But there were poor choices in the kicking game and missed conversions that could have allowed the CAP to win. Because the team deserved to win and finish with a victory over Dantou, where they have rarely played this season. "That's how it is," lamented the co-coach. "We showed a good side of the U21 team, so we'll remember that."
End on a good note?Shortcomings, but also injuries and a more than complicated schedule with sometimes a month without playing, will have therefore been the end of the Capistes, who, unless they win in Nevers on the final day, will finish last in their group in the French Challenge. "We have to go to Nevers to finish the season well," says Robert Chassagnac, whose players will try to prepare as best they can for this last match. "We shouldn't go there just to be extras," says the coach. Taking the match by the right end and having fun will therefore be the watchwords next weekend.
