Mourinho fired, his compensation is monstrous

In a shock move from Turkey, Portuguese coach José Mourinho has been sacked as Fenerbahce's coach after their Champions League playoff exit. "We are parting ways with José Mourinho, who has been the coach of our senior team since the 2024-2025 season," the club announced in a statement.
The former Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Inter Milan manager failed to lead the Turkish side to the title, a trophy they have eluded since 2014. His suspensions have been more talked about than his successes. In April, he grabbed the face of the manager of rival club Galatasaray after a Turkish Cup derby loss. Two months earlier, he had already been suspended for four matches and fined for comments made against the fourth official.
But it's not all doom and gloom for the Special One, as the club paid a €9 million severance package to part ways with him. This amount also includes compensation for the coaching staff. As a reminder, when he left Chelsea, he also received over €9 million.
