Football: the two promoted to Regional 3 are determined for the Dordogne

With three matches still to go, the only thing at stake is the league title and the names of the last two relegated teams.
While Thenon-Limeyrat-Fossemagne had secured their place in the Regional 3 division the previous weekend, Bergerac La Catte, who were just one point short of the league, did the same on Saturday evening, winning decisively (0-4) at Cendrieux. The leading duo will now battle it out for the Dordogne championship title over the final three days.
"We'd like to be honorarily so, because we've been all season," admits Didier Lérisson, the Thennonnais coach, whose team easily won against Montignac this Saturday (6-2). "But we'll have to work hard to keep our point lead, especially with a complicated trip next Sunday to the Prigonrieux reserve team," warns the technician.
For its part, Perigueux Foot once again lost at home to the in-form team of the moment, Neuvic-Saint-Léon. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, ASNSL turned the match around to win 1-4. "It was surely the most accomplished half of the season," admits Alexandre Berger, the Neuvic coach. "This victory formalizes our survival and allows us to approach our Dordogne Cup semi-final with confidence, this Thursday (6 p.m. in Planèze) against Boulazac (R1). We want to have a great football festival. And why not create a feat!"
The four promoted to D1 knownNeuvicois now share fourth place in the standings with Limeuil, who won 0-4 at Château-l'Évêque, while Faux was beaten 3-1 at a PMG team that had already been relegated. In terms of survival, the weekend's good performances were for the Périgueux reserve team, almost saved after their 4-0 win against Bassi-Milhac, and Alliance Dronne, who, despite their goalkeeper being sent off before halftime, won 3-0 against a direct opponent, Bergerac Stella. But from 8th to 11th, it's still a close call to avoid the last two fatal places.
Conversely, the four teams promoted to D1 are already known for next season. In D2 Group A, Tocane, which celebrates its centenary this year, joins Champcevinel. In Group B, the reserves of Sarlat-Marcillac and Montpon-Ménesplet are the lucky ones.
