  • Sunday, May 4. Roger Heim, mayor of Ernestviller, died in Freyming-Merlebach. Aged 76, he had served as the chief magistrate of the commune of Ernestviller, and its annex of Eckenransbach, since 2008. He had been re-elected twice, in 2014 and 2020, and was preparing to complete his third term as mayor next year. Roger Heim also sat on the Sarreguemines Confluences urban community.

  • Monday, May 5. The CFTC, CFE-CGC, and CFDT unions signed an early retirement agreement with the management of Ineos Automotive in Hambach, guaranteeing substantial compensation for employees.   • Thursday, May 8. Luck smiled on a couple from Moselle passing through Rohrbach-lès-Bitche. They purchased a Ticket Or scratch card at Jacqueline George's Maison de la Presse. The Moselle residents won €500,000.
