The heatwave that has been ongoing since Friday continues this Tuesday, with 14 departments on red alert , including 10 maintained at this level by Météo-France in the Southwest, where temperatures reached "an exceptional level" on Monday . The Rhône, Isère, Ardèche and Drôme are placed on the same alert level.
"The heatwave is reaching as far as the Centre region, the Paris region, Champagne, and Burgundy, with temperatures of 35 to 37°C across the board, and 38 or 39°C locally," Météo-France reported.
This 51st heat wave recorded in France since 1947 could continue until next week .
