Hospital parking pricing in the public debate

The first to raise the issue were the LFI (France Unbowed) MPs: released in the middle of summer, their proposal calls for completely free hospital parking and a ban on any concessions to private operators. It also demands the termination of current contracts within three years.
The less radical Socialist PartyThe Socialist group followed up in September with a less radical proposal, offering completely free services for patients during their stay, two free hours per day for visitors, and free services for staff during their working hours – which is already the case almost everywhere, even at the Bordeaux University Hospital. Hospitals already contracted with a private operator have two years to comply, without penalty.
Not to be outdone, a National Rally MP immediately introduced a text establishing free access for patients, visitors and staff, prohibiting the conclusion of new public service delegation contracts, and providing for compensation by the State, financed by an additional tax.
