The fourth season of 'Tal para cual' arrives with 'Nacaranda' and 'Nacasia'.

Because the public demanded it, Like for Like has been renewed to offer a fourth season that will premiere this Sunday.

The comedy series starring Consuelo Duval (“Nacaranda”) and Lorena de la Garza (“Nacasia”) returns to Las Estrellas at 7:30 p.m.

In this fourth installment, viewers will rediscover the unique world of Nacotitlán: a space filled with color, anecdotes, and endearing characters.

Recently, Televisa presented the project produced by Reynaldo López through a press conference held at the station's forums in Mexico City, where El Siglo de Torreón was present.

The event was attended by López and a large part of the cast, such as Consuelo Duval, Lorena de la Garza, Gustavo Munguía, Javier Carranza (”El Costeño”), Hugo Alcántara (”El Indio Brayan)”, Maribel Fernández, Lupita Sandoval, Nicole Vale and David Salomón, among others.

The Community Ombudsman asked the cast how they've had to moderate the characters' mischief in these times, when certain sectors of society can be offended by some of the comedians' comments, only to have to confront cancel culture.

I think times dictate changes. This project comes from another one from the past (La hora pico) that was very successful, so the same formula wasn't going to work. So the writers and the producer have found a way to move forward with society, and yes, it's a different language. When I did TV in the 1980s, it's nothing like what's done today. We're doing a great professional job for you ,” said Lupita Sandoval.

In that sense, Nicole Vale confirmed that nowadays we must be careful about what we express, and she tries to be aware of these details in coordination with her classmates.

I think that there are things that have changed and there are things that are no longer well regarded and I think that is correct, but that does not mean that when the scripts are written with precision the result is a well-made comedy that does not insult anyone and you do not have to remove all the mischief, so we all complement each other and if there is something that perhaps does not sound right I can say, 'hey, this is not nice, we have to remove it' and we start working on it .”

MAGIC

Reynaldo Rossano shared that Tal para cual continues to maintain the magic of its plot, without resorting to situations or jokes from past installments.

Not repeating yourself is the way to approach situations. There are many times in everyday life when similar things happen to us, but the way you approach them is what makes the difference.

“This new season features new adventures that I hope you enjoy ,” he explained, and Munguía, who is also a writer for Tal para cual, added that you have to reinvent yourself every day.

As a writer, you have to be constantly innovating and correcting a lot of things. You're never satisfied with this job. Then you watch scenes and say, 'Oh, they were missing this or that.' I think in the fourth season, we managed to improve on the previous ones .”

Maribel Fernández, "La Pelangocha," spoke. She celebrated the fact that life had put her on the path to Tal para cual.

For me it has been a blessing to be with this bunch of stars and to be able to play this character of 'Nacorita' that brings me back a bit to the role of 'La Pelangocha '.”

It's worth noting that, according to Lorena de la Garza, the return of "Nacaranda" and "Nacasia" came about during the COVID-19 pandemic. "During the pandemic, we realized that people hadn't forgotten our characters, and when Reinaldo decided to bring them back to TV, it was wonderful."

Something that makes Consuela Duval happy is that both “Nacasia” and “Nacaranda” have not aged.

" The characters have lived 25 years (from Rush Hour to the present) and they're still the same age. If I physically or mentally didn't feel capable of playing 'Nacaranda,' who moves, jumps, and does things, I would have been a little afraid because so much time has passed. Thank God he gives us the opportunity to embody these roles that have been around for a while and remain the same age, something that has become a very difficult acting challenge."

Now time has not passed for us ,” Duval said.

Regarding the fourth installment of Tal para cual, Consuelo mentioned that it is full of surprises.

We've given the situations a fresh look. This installment features a ton of unexpected moments. Technology will be present, as we'll even be able to see 'Molusco' and 'Paul Yester' (Mungía's characters) together .”

Finally, Reinaldo López commented at the national conference that Mexican television is going through a time of intense competition due to the vast offering available on networks and platforms.

Capturing audiences minute by minute is a challenge, and that's why we're producing better content than ever before—more elaborate and entertaining. We have to compete against content from all over the world .”
