At least 466 arrested in protest against the banning of the NGO Palestine Action

London police have confirmed the arrest of at least 466 people who gathered in the British capital this Saturday to protest against the outlawing of the pro-Palestinian NGO Palestine Action for its recent incursion into a British military base.
"As of 9 p.m., 466 people had been arrested for showing support for Palestine Action. There were eight other arrests for other offenses, including five assaults on officers," the Met added, in what will be its final update of the day.
Following Palestine Action's outlawing under the 2000 Anti-Terrorism Act, supporting or belonging to the organization will be a crime, with maximum penalties of up to 14 years in prison , although the organization's lawyers have argued until the last moment that the outlawing represents "an authoritarian abuse" of power, according to the BBC.
Keir Starmer's government promoted the group's outlawing after a raid on an airbase in which several activists spray-painted graffiti on military aircraft. Authorities estimated the damage at £7 million (€8.1 million).
