Berlin Left: Expropriate shopping centers, but remain silent on the dispute over Israel

After its triumph in the federal elections, the Left Party wants to turn Berlin into a "red metropolis." But it has been clear since the party conference in Chemnitz that risks remain.

The Berlin Left Party is in a dilemma. On the one hand, it's barely able to walk, having doubled its membership from 7,500 to more than 15,000 within a few months. At the same time, a conflict over how to deal with anti-Semitism continues to simmer. This is the situation ahead of the state party conference, which will take place this weekend at the Dong Xuan House in Lichtenberg .
