|Patrick Schnieder has had enough: The Transport Minister is drawing conclusions from the poor state of Deutsche Bahn. There will be a change at the top of the railway—but not immediately.
After eight years at the helm of Deutsche Bahn, it's over. Deutsche Bahn CEO Richard Lutz must step down. This was announced by Federal Transport Minister Patrick Schnieder on Thursday afternoon in Berlin. "There will be a change at the top of Deutsche Bahn," he said. The two men had previously met for crisis talks at the Federal Ministry of Transport. Lutz's contract was originally scheduled to run until 2027 – the same length as his "S3" restructuring program.
