Donald Trump: Ukraine can forget about joining NATO

The US President commented on Ukraine’s accession to NATO at a cabinet meeting.
US President Donald Trump said at his first cabinet meeting on Wednesday that Ukraine could forget about joining NATO. He added that this plan was the reason the whole thing started in the first place. Trump thus officially confirmed what US Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth hinted at two weeks ago in his speech at NATO headquarters in Brussels. Hegseth said that the new US administration does not consider NATO membership for Ukraine to be realistic, even after the end of the Russian war of aggression.
Hegseth added that a return to Ukraine 's 2014 borders is also "unrealistic." "Pursuing this illusory goal will only prolong the war and cause more suffering," the US Defense Secretary said.
Trump had recently confirmed that he would receive his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelensky in Washington on Friday. The Ukrainian president is expected to sign the raw materials deal agreements.
The USA and Ukraine agreed on the first general points of the minerals agreement on February 25. "It is too early to talk about money, because this is a framework agreement," said Zelenskyj in Kiev, according to the news agency Interfax-Ukraine. A real contract will follow later. "This will be more difficult and serious, because the next contract is about the fund," he explained. The negotiations on the raw materials deal fueled tensions between Trump and Zelenskyj last week.
THINK 2014......🤔
