Berghain: This is the best time of year for the Berlin techno club in Friedrichshain

Summer is often considered the most beautiful time of year here in Berlin. But is that also the case when it comes to partying in techno clubs like Berghain? There are some wild theories about this.
The Berlin winter is terrible. In other cities, people complain about the current weather conditions; in Berlin, they complain about an entire season - which seems to take up half the year here. Newcomers from sunnier, milder climates (from Baden-Württemberg to Bolivia) in particular find the Berlin winter with its endless grey cloud cover sour. And so many potential guests to Berlin are easily advised to arrive in the summer. But is that wise?
As is often the case, practical questions about techno club culture arise on the discussion portal Reddit: "What is the best time of year to visit Berlin and Berghain ?" asks one user. The responses are not long in coming: "Berghain is always good," answers one user, "but if you don't like saunas, summer doesn't make it any better." From mid-July to the end of August, Berghain is too touristy. "Because the queue gets longer, you waste your time."
The Berghain summer bashing continues in a similar way in other comments: "To be honest, I go to Berghain much less in the summer," writes a person who calls himself Efeufuchs on the Reddit forum. The Berghain garden, which is open then, is simply a poor substitute for the limited opening hours of the Panorama Bar, the second dance floor in Berghain - which stands for more melodic, bright sounds - in the summer.
Another user even draws a contrast between Berlin as a whole and Berghain in particular: "Berlin is best in summer, but Berghain is at its worst then in my opinion." The person points to long queues almost every weekend, lots of tourists, super hot indoor temperatures and recommends "as a middle ground" the end of May, June or beginning of September.
Other users are also surprisingly specific in their Berghain travel tips regarding the (supposedly) best time of year: the end of April and May are ideal, says one user. "The weather is perfect, but you don't have the summer rush and the next wave of Erasmus children," who will probably arrive in Berlin again in the winter semester, still full of party energy. Other practical considerations could also play a role, as the Reddit posts show, for example in the event that you can't get into Berghain: Which weekends would be the best plan B in the other Berlin clubs?
As always, some people see it quite differently: "To be honest, I prefer to visit Berlin in winter because I think the dark and cold time suits Berlin better," writes New-Preparation-7442. "Especially if you spend most of your time chilling in a club." Is the Berlin winter perhaps better than its bad reputation suggests?
