Quickly Build the Next Generation: Three Countries Unite for Fighter Jet Coalition

G7 Fighter Jet Consortium Established by Japan, UK, and Italy

Japan, the UK, and Italy are set to accelerate the joint development of a next-generation fighter jet. The defense ministers of the three nations announced the establishment of a trilateral governmental organization by the end of the year to collaborate closely with aircraft manufacturers. This initiative stems from a 2022 agreement for the joint production of a new fighter jet, aimed to be operational by 2035, in response to growing threats from China, Russia, and North Korea.

Additionally, a similar concept is already underway for tanks, showcasing a broader commitment to enhance defense capabilities among these allied countries.
