Fire at Rubber Factory! Numerous teams dispatched

A fire broke out for unspecified reasons at a rubber factory in Beşköprü Mahallesi, Serdivan. The flames quickly spread to five neighboring businesses.

Emergency crews, comprising 28 vehicles and 60 firefighters, were dispatched to combat the blaze. Support from water cannon vehicles and municipal resources assisted the firefighting efforts.

FIRE EXTINGUISHED

The fire, which damaged the rubber factory and five businesses, was brought under control after approximately four hours of intense firefighting. Due to ongoing cooling efforts, traffic on the D-100 highway towards Ankara is being managed in a controlled single-lane manner.

Sakarya Mayor Yusuf Alemdar and Serdivan Mayor Osman Çelik visited the site to assess the situation. Alemdar stated that no casualties were reported, and the fire was largely contained before it could spread further.

STATEMENT FROM THE MAYOR

Alemdar informed reporters post-visit that the firefighting teams arrived quickly after receiving the alarm at 02:14, preventing the fire from escalating. He acknowledged the rapid spread due to the nature of the materials in the factory but reassured that no lives were lost.

The investigation into the cause of the fire will commence once cooling operations are complete. Alemdar emphasized the importance of collaboration among business owners in the area to find a permanent solution to prevent future incidents. Thankfully, as of now, there have been no injuries or major losses.
