Experts: Industry Shapes Future Influence and Boosts Investment Appeal in Morocco

The "National Industry Day," now in its second year, serves as an annual occasion to celebrate achievements and share ideas regarding major national challenges and global trends affecting the industrial sector. This year, the event took place in Beni Mellal, with the Prime Minister emphasizing the dynamic initiatives implemented by the government to reinforce national industry, guided by the directives of King Mohammed VI, who prioritizes this sector for comprehensive and sustainable development.

The event, held under the theme of "Launching a New Industrial Era Based on Sovereignty," included discussions on industrial sovereignty, technological advancement, energy transition, and competitiveness. Key outcomes included the signing of three strategic agreements aimed at expanding industrial zones and strengthening cooperation between scientific research and industry, aligning with the royal vision for an innovative and sustainable industrial framework.

In 2023, the Moroccan industrial sector significantly contributed to exports, with 88% of exports being manufactured goods, positioning it as a crucial element of national economic sovereignty. Economic expert Mohamed Adel Esho noted that the recent developments align with King Mohammed VI's vision for enhanced economic diplomacy, particularly concerning the Sahara issue.

Esho highlighted the impressive growth in the industrial sector, including a tripling of jobs and a substantial increase in revenue and exports, particularly in the automotive and aerospace sectors. The sector’s advancement echoes Morocco’s potential as a competitive player on the international stage, attracting substantial foreign investment.

Overall, it is evident that industrial development is a driving force in Morocco's economic strategy, reinforcing its status as a vital industrial hub in the region, especially in light of sustainable practices and technological innovations.
