Awareness Campaign for Early Breast Cancer Detection Launched in Beni Mellal
On Sunday, the city of Beni Mellal launched an awareness campaign for the early detection of breast cancer, held annually during "Pink October." This initiative aims to raise awareness about the dangers of the disease and the importance of early screening to save the lives of thousands of women.
The campaign is organized by the Beni Mellal Islamic Charity Association, under the supervision of local authorities, in partnership with the regional health department and various health facilities, including Akdital Health Center and Farabi International Clinic. It emphasizes the essential role of early detection in the prevention and treatment of breast cancer.
The activities kicked off from Ain Asrdoun resort, showcasing a large awareness march through the main streets of the city. Many women attended to take advantage of free medical screenings offered at health centers from October 20 to 31, 2024.
Several well-known artists and media personalities, including Hicham El Ouali and Tarek Bikhari, are participating in the campaign, helping to promote awareness through workshops on prevention and risk factors associated with breast cancer.
This initiative is part of a comprehensive national campaign organized by the Ministry of Health and Social Protection under the slogan "Your Checkup Now is Safety and Comfort.. Don’t Hesitate," aiming to reduce breast cancer incidence rates in Morocco and combat this prevalent disease among women.
Notably, the campaign has seen significant interest from women in Beni Mellal and surrounding areas, reflecting their awareness of the disease and eagerness to receive practical guidance on self-examination and regular follow-ups.
