These Dove Body Scrubs Turned My Bathroom Into a Five-Star Spa: Review

If you think of your shower as just a daily chore, you might want to up the ante with Dove Body Scrubs to make the experience feel a little more luxe. It's like hanging eucalyptus from your shower head to get that aromatic spa scent. A towel warmer that keeps cozy right out of the shower. Lighting up candles? Of course!
Dove’s Exfoliating Body Scrubs, a lineup of delicious-smelling scrubs, will turn your shower into a spa, without the hefty price tag. I tried four of the scrubs and detailed each one's vibe so you know exactly what will match yours before you add to cart.
Dove’s Himalayan Salt & Rose Oil Body Scrub is the one you break out when you want the full spa-at-home experience. From the color — a delightful light pink that just looks luxe — to the texture — a whipped cream that doesn’t slide through your fingers like some grainy, oily scrubs do — the product is a treat to all the senses. It lathers beautifully once it hits damp skin, melting into a milky consistency that feels both exfoliating and moisturizing. The scent is floral but grounded, like sniffing from a rose bush rather than getting a whiff of someone’s floral scented perfume. It lingers on the skin long after toweling off from the shower and makes me feel like I was somewhere fancier than in my bathroom.
The Vanilla Sugar & Shea Butter Body Scrub feels like slipping into a soft robe straight from the dryer or like a warm hug from a good friend. It’s cozy, comforting, and smells like someone’s baking sugar cookies down the hall. The exfoliation is gentle but still effective, and the formula also spreads easily across the skin like the one above. While it didn’t leave much of a scent post-shower (perfect for anyone who’s scent-sensitive or prefers a more subtle, skin-close fragrance), it still leaves a lasting impression. If Himalayan Salt & Rose Oil is a hotel spa, this one’s a cozy Sunday morning at home.
As for the scrubbiest of the bunch? The Brown Sugar & Coconut Butter edition does it like no other. It has a noticeably grainier texture, thanks to the brown sugar, and it really goes to work on rougher spots like elbows or knees. I feel like this is the one you reach for when your skin needs a little extra TLC. The scent is rich, nutty, and feels like the older and wiser sister of the vanilla sugar scrub: while sweet, you can also rely on her to get the job done.
The Dragonfruit & Coconut Scrub is the most novel out of the lineup, and the white and black-speckled texture literally looks like you’re opening into a fresh dragonfruit. The scent to me, admittedly, felt a little artificial when I first opened the tub, but it mellowed out once it hit warm water. Post-shower, my skin felt noticeably smoother, and it added an energizing and cheerful start to the day. The perfect pick-me-up.
While each scrub brought something different to the table, all offerings left my skin extremely soft, smelling yummy, and seriously unable to pick a favorite. So I make the case for a girl to have ‘em all: rotate the collection based on your mood, because these scrubs each deserve time in the spotlight and in your shower.
