Paige Bueckers Debuts New Signature Hairstyle Teased at the WNBA Draft — See Photos
Paige Bueckers is marking a new chapter of her basketball career with a hairstyle to match.
Former UConn superstar, Paige Bueckers, who was drafted by the Dallas Wings in the WNBA draft on April 13, is swapping her former double braid hairstyle in favor of a bun — a look she debuted during a press conference on April 23, 2025.

Instead of the two small braids that began at her hairline and wrapped around her head, ending in a ponytail, Bueckers was wearing a simple, sleek bun, her blonde hair parted in the center and slicked down, then gathered at the crown of her head. The bun also popped up in an official portrait of the athlete, where she holds a basketball with black-painted fingernails.
Bueckers told People that she was ready for a change and a “break from the braids,” which she wore during her tenure with the UConn Huskies, where she played point guard. "I think maybe a little slick-back ponytail, might be the wave, maybe a bun ponytail, but I need to give my hair a break and let it breathe a little bit," she explained at the draft. (Bueckers was the Wings' first pick.) She must have landed on the bun, and we have a feeling we'll be seeing it on the court very soon.
The athlete wore her hair down for the draft itself, posing for pics with her blonde hair styled in long, beachy waves. She wore head-to-toe Coach, including two custom sparkling suit jackets and matching trouser sets — one brown and one black — and styled them with Coach loafers and the brand's mega-viral Oversized Kisslock Bag.
