Benny Blanco and Selena Gomez are currently long-distance as the actress continues filming Only Murders in the Building season 5 in New York City. But her fiancé will go to great lengths to see her despite his fear of flying. In multiple interviews, Blanco revealed he drives cross-country to visit Gomez when she’s in New York.

When Blanco spoke to ELLE for his ELLE Man interview, he was literally on the road. He confirmed he is not a fan of air travel. “Oh my God, I hate it,” he said. “Terrifying. I’m in Dallas right now. I’m driving to New York from Los Angeles.”

During the couple’s recent On Purpose with Jay Shetty interview, he shared more details about his workarounds for travel. “I take the boat to Europe,” he said. “Oh my God, it’s so long. It’s like first you have to drive to New York and then you get on a boat for eight days, and you’re on the Titanic.”

Shetty asked Gomez what Blanco is like on a flight. “He does not fly,” she answered.

“I’ve done it, but not since we’ve been dating,” he added.

Gomez isn’t even sure she’d want to fly with him “because I would be so worried about him,” she said, adding, “I think it’s a big fear of his.”

The producer did join Gomez in New York earlier this spring. She shared photos of him on set with her.

Gomez and Blanco also discussed being long-distance on their recent Table Manners with Jessie and Lennie Ware appearance. They aim to see each other at least every three weeks, meaning Blanco regularly makes his cross-country drives.

“It’s just so hard,” Gomez said. “I mean, I don’t think it is typical, but what I do love about the distance is it does make us miss each other and cherish the time we have together. But two weeks is like ideal. But if I’m being really honest, it’s like two days and then I get really sad.”
