Single vehicle crash into London home knocks out power on Adelaide

The driver of a vehicle was taken to hospital Sunday morning after slamming into a stop light, a hydro pole, and eventually the front of a home on Adelaide Street south.

The single-vehicle crash knocked out power to the area around Hamilton Road with several blocks on Adelaide Street also closed.

Fire crews said they were working with live wires that dangled onto the road and sidewalk, the result of the hydro line snapping off. Some homeowners were told to shelter in place while the work was underway.

The cause of the crash, or whether police are investigating, was not yet known at the time of publication.

One home on Adelaide Street was severely damanged by the impact of the vehicle crashing into it. The cause of the crash is not yet known.
