4 London men face kidnapping charges following alleged robbery spree
Four men are facing charges in London after police said they kidnapped another man at gunpoint before taking him on a car ride around the city to commit a series of robberies.
The victim was a 20-year-old man who was attending a gathering at a Richmond Street apartment last Sunday. The group of suspects was there and knew the victim, according to police.
They interacted throughout the night, until about 6 a.m. Monday, when police allege the men forced the victim to leave the apartment, while one of them threatened and assaulted him with a gun.
Next, police said the men got the victim into a car and drove him to multiple locations around London, including banks, that the suspects were then accused of robbing. Police would not specify what was stolen.
At around 7, the men let the victim out of the car, police said. He had minor injuries and did not need medical attention.
Following an investigation the four suspects have been charged with:
- Kidnapping,
- Extortion,
- Armed robbery,
- Pointing a firearm, and
- Unauthorized possession of a prohibited weapon.
All four are currently in police custody and appeared in London court on Friday.
