Those who saw it were astonished! A clever solution from a farmer from Amasya

Farmer Fatih Şahin, from the Taşova district of Amasya, managed to protect his fruit trees against frost with the method he developed.

Farmer Fatih Şahin, who has nectarine trees in a 6.5-hectare garden in Yerkozlu village of Amasya’s Taşova district, managed to protect all of his fruit from the spring frosts that hit at night last year by spraying water on the trees and freezing their surfaces. 45-year-old Şahin, who tried the same method against the extreme cold that occurred after the snowfall in the region this February, had icicles form on all of his trees.

"The inside of the ice is hot"

Şahin, who pointed out that he applied this method when the air temperature reached -12 degrees, said, "The nectarine tree wakes up early due to its type. It can be affected by the cold. The inside of the ice is warm. It prevents the bud from feeling the cold outside."

"If this system had not been implemented, there would have been a loss in the garden"

Stating that no budding or budding was observed in the fruits outside of this garden in Amasya, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Gürol Çetin said, "Our farmer applied a frost protection system by freezing. If he had not applied this system, the entire garden would have been lost, but now it seems that nearly 60 percent of the garden will be saved."

"I thought the trees were blooming, but it was frost"

Mustafa Gölbaşı from Yukarı Baraklı village, who entered the garden with his wife after seeing the trees he encountered on the road, said, "I thought the trees were blooming. It was like pure white flowers. It turned out it was ice. We have just seen such a system."

Güllü Gölbaşı also said, "We are dying of curiosity. It has attracted everyone's attention. Some people think it was sprayed with foam. However, it is covered with ice. The trees are frozen. The view is very beautiful."
