Tensions after trustee in Van! They burned a garbage truck with fireworks

Van Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Abdullah Zeydan, from the DEM Party, was sentenced to 3 years and 9 months in prison on Tuesday, February 11, at the Diyarbakır 5th High Criminal Court for "attempting to knowingly and willingly aid an armed terrorist organization" as part of the terrorism investigation launched against him.

Governor Ozan Balcı was appointed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs to replace Zeydan, who was dismissed on February 15, 2024.

After the appointment of a trustee, many of the fireworks launched during the unauthorized demonstrations organized by a group hit a garbage truck. As the flames spread rapidly, the garbage truck was completely burned and became unusable.

Upon notification, teams from the İpekyolu Group Command affiliated to the Van Metropolitan Municipality Fire Department were dispatched to the scene and intervened in the fire, bringing the flames under control.
