Interior Minister Ali Yerlikaya shared a post on his social media account saying, “Following the operations carried out by the Provincial Gendarmerie Command teams of Muğla, Diyarbakır, Kahramanmaraş, Kırklareli, Giresun, Samsun and Karaman, a precautionary measure was imposed on 7 workplaces, 1 shop, 6 residences, 4 vehicles and 1 plot of land, with an approximate value of 1 billion 40 million lira.” Minister Yerlikaya shared the following statements in his post: "In our operations conducted by our gendarmerie against 7 separate organized crime organizations based in 7 provinces, we caught 78 suspects, 46 of them were arrested, and judicial control provisions were applied to 27 of them. In operations conducted by the teams from the Muğla, Diyarbakır, Kahramanmaraş, Kırklareli, Giresun, Samsun and Karaman Provincial Gendarmerie Commands under the coordination of the Chief Public Prosecutor's Offices and the Gendarmerie KOM Department, it was determined that the suspects caught in Muğla committed the crime of migrant smuggling in an organized manner; in Kırklareli, they obtained illicit profits by obtaining irregular reports through private education and rehabilitation centers; in Kahramanmaraş, they conducted drug trafficking in an organized manner; and in Giresun, Diyarbakır, Samsun and Karaman, they engaged in usury by applying high interest rates to our citizens in difficult situations.
