New confession in the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality scam! Corruption through poverty cards
Ertan Yıldız, the head of the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Assembly Subsidiaries/Affiliates Commission, which is targeting those involved in corruption, was arrested on the grounds that he requested a 5 million Euro "bribe" from the owners of a shopping mall in Bakırköy.
According to Sabah newspaper, Yıldız was not released after giving a six-page statement to the prosecutor, along with his lawyer, on May 6, 2025, to benefit from the provisions of "effective repentance."
He was subsequently brought before a prosecutor once again from prison and testified. He was then released under house arrest, benefiting from the provisions of "effective repentance" and judicial control.

The driver, who gave his statement to the prosecutor's office, said that during the period when Ertan Yıldız was responsible for the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality's subsidiaries, he received aid cards from many different places, the amount of which he could not estimate.
