Fenerbahçe and Milan are in a fierce competition for left-back Archie Brown, who plays for Belgian League team Gent.

Fenerbahçe, the first club to reach an agreement with Gent for an €8 million transfer fee, sent a private jet to Brussels to bring the player to Istanbul after Milan backed out. However, Milan stepped in at the last minute, promising Gent the same amount Fenerbahçe would pay. Milan then sent a private jet to Brussels to negotiate terms with the player.

While Gent accepted both Fenerbahçe and Milan's offers, the transfer was left to the player's decision.
