Schools opened, heavy rain began, traffic was blocked in Istanbul

Istanbul began Monday morning with torrential downpours and city blockades. Traffic congestion began to build as the downpour began to set in.

Traffic density on the Anatolian Side of Istanbul reached 71 percent and on the European Side it reached 60 percent.

CHP Istanbul Provincial Building Blockade

Following the decision to appoint a trustee to the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters and the trustee committee's announcement that the office would be reinstated, traffic congestion is also occurring around the provincial building. Police have taken extensive precautions around Sarıyer, bringing traffic to a standstill in the area and on connecting roads.
