President Erdoğan: Our Air Force will become much stronger with the purchase of the Eurofighter

President Tayyip Erdoğan said, "We discussed the purchase of Eurofighter fighter jets, which has been ongoing for some time with Qatar and Oman, with our counterparts. The purchase of these aircraft will make our Air Force much stronger." In a conversation with reporters on the plane returning from his Gulf visit, Erdoğan summarized his remarks:

(Gulf tour encompassing Kuwait, Qatar, and Oman) Our defense companies also held productive meetings with their counterparts in Qatar and Oman. Under the coordination of my Minister of National Defense, we discussed with our counterparts the purchase of Eurofighter fighter jets, a matter that has been ongoing for some time with the Qatari and Omani sides.

The negotiations we're conducting on this issue, which involves numerous technical details, are progressing positively. I've now held these meetings. My Minister of Defense and Minister of Foreign Affairs have also held these meetings. They will continue these discussions going forward.

We want to quickly conclude these matters and, God willing, further strengthen our Air Force. The acquisition of these aircraft will make our Air Force even stronger.
