Microsoft CEO earns record salary

Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella's total earnings for fiscal 2025 rose 22 percent to $96.5 million. This was the highest salary in Nadella's more than 10-year tenure. More than $84 million of Nadella's income comes from stock awards and $9.5 million from cash bonuses, according to a regulatory filing on Tuesday. His pay package is largely tied to the performance of Microsoft's stock.
The company's share value has doubled in three years.Since the beginning of the year, Microsoft shares have gained 23 percent, outperforming the S&P 500 index. The company's stock has doubled in value over the past three years, a growth particularly driven by Azure, its cloud service that meets the demand for AI infrastructure. In July, Microsoft reported its highest revenue growth in three years and increased sales by 18 percent. The company is expected to prioritize AI investments in its new financial statement, to be released on October 29th.
There was a debate about Israel in the company.However, there has also been unrest within Microsoft. In April, some employees were fired for protesting its collaboration with the Israeli military. US politicians have also criticized the company for simultaneously increasing applications for foreign worker visas while carrying out mass layoffs.
