From Ali Mahir Başarır to Gürsel Tekin: He can come as a party member, not as a trustee!

Following the annulment of the CHP's Istanbul Provincial Congress by the 45th Civil Court, Özgür Çelik and his management team were dismissed, and a five-person trustee board consisting of Gürsel Tekin, Zeki Şen, Hasan Babacan, Müjdat Gürbüz, and Erkan Narsap was appointed in their place. Hasan Babacan and Müjdat Gürbüz, who were also on the board, refused to become trustees.
"THIS PARTY WAS NOT SEIZED"
Following Tekin's statement that he would come to the provincial headquarters on Monday, the CHP Istanbul Provincial Headquarters was surrounded by police.
CHP Deputy Group Chairman and MP Ali Mahir Başarır, who described the events that took place throughout the night to TELE1, said, "Unfortunately, the provincial headquarters of Türkiye's leading party in its largest province has been surrounded by police. Thousands of police officers are not allowing our party members into their homes. Let them not forget that this party building was not seized."
Reacting to Istanbul Governor Davut Gül’s statements that the court-appointed trustee committee has administrative authority, Başarır said, “The following was said to the Istanbul Governor: ‘No trustee was appointed, a call committee was appointed. There was no lockdown, how can you prevent it?’ We said.”
Başarır, stating that the CHP had raided the Istanbul Provincial Headquarters following the blockade, said, "60 MPs are here, our party members are here. It is enough for us to remove the mud on democracy and law."
"HE MAY COME AS A MEMBER OF THE PARTY, NOT AS A TRUSTEE"Başarır also addressed Tekin, saying, "We told him not to come as a trustee. He can come as a member of his party. I do not think it is right for him to come with such a wrong court decision."
