'Yellow' code warning from Meteorology for 8 provinces

According to forecasts by the General Directorate of Meteorology, today (September 6) the northern, central, and western parts of the country are expected to be partly to very cloudy; eastern Marmara, the central Aegean, western Mediterranean, northern Central Anatolia, the western and central Black Sea, the eastern Black Sea coasts, and around Kars and Ardahan are expected to be prone to showers and thunderstorms; other areas are expected to be partly cloudy and clear. Rainfall is expected to become locally heavy in the afternoon in Kocaeli, Sakarya, Yalova, Bursa, Bilecik, Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, Düzce, Eskişehir, Yozgat, and Çorum.
Air temperatures are expected to remain above seasonal norms.
The wind is generally expected to blow from the north, with light to moderate winds blowing from the south in the southeastern parts of the country.
HEAVY RAIN WARNING: Since rainfall is expected to be locally heavy (21-50 kg/m2) in the afternoon in Kocaeli, Sakarya, Yalova, Bursa, Bilecik, Kütahya, Afyonkarahisar, Düzce, Eskişehir, Yozgat and Çorum, it is necessary to be careful and take precautions against adverse events such as flash floods, inundation, lightning, local hail and strong winds during rainfall.

MGM issued a "yellow" code heavy rain warning for Bilecik, Bolu, Bursa, Kocaeli, Kütahya, Sakarya, Yalova and Düzce.
What does code yellow mean?
The weather is potentially hazardous. While the forecast meteorological event is not unusual, caution should be exercised regarding activities that may be affected by meteorological conditions.
