Two critical days for the CHP

The Ankara 42nd Civil Court of First Instance will convene to hear the case seeking the cancellation of the CHP 's 38th Ordinary Congress. The CHP Party Assembly will convene at 2:00 PM. The date for the 39th Ordinary Congress will be determined at the Party Assembly, which will convene under the leadership of CHP Leader Özgür Özel.
According to party sources, who emphasized that the CHP has completed its congresses in all provinces except Osmaniye, the case will be dismissed due to "lack of context." Party officials stated that no adverse outcome is expected from the case, and that a postponement to a later date would not be surprising.
CONGRESS CALENDARThe CHP Party Assembly will set a date today for the CHP's 39th Ordinary Congress. According to information obtained from CHP sources, the congress will be held in the second week of November. Following the congress's calendar, the CHP will also announce the congress's slogan to the public.
PREPARATION OF THE INDICTMENTThe CHP will also accelerate its work on another key agenda item: the indictment against Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu, expected to be published in early November. CHP members, who consider the indictment, publicly labeled the "Aziz İhsan Aktaş criminal organization indictment," to be a "hollow indictment," believe the indictment against İmamoğlu will be structured similarly.
The CHP's team of lawyers will be working to counter the indictment. In addition to the lawyers, the CHP's communications team is also preparing to respond to the allegations. In this context, a similar "Lies-Truths" bulletin, prepared after the accusations against the Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality, will be prepared following the İmamoğlu indictment.
FIELD STUDYThe study, which addresses the accusations in the indictment, will also be made public. CHP neighborhood representatives will also share with voters the gaps in the indictment and the accusations deemed "unfounded." CHP members stated that not only will the allegations in the indictment be addressed, but also that "corruption during the AKP era" will be publicly reported. The fieldwork will also highlight the "double standards in the judiciary."

THE INDICTMENT WAS SHED OUT BY WIRESCHP Chairman Özgür Özel met with Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality (IMM) Mayor Ekrem İmamoğlu, who is currently in custody in Silivri. Following the meeting, Özgür Özel issued a statement stating that the indictments against CHP mayors were baseless, saying:
There's nothing hidden in the indictment. They only found one luxury yacht. Now they're saying that yacht belongs to the Mayor of Beşiktaş. Ahmet Özer is being held behind bars based on a slander. He's been in prison for nine months. If he were sentenced, he would have been released after three months. The Aydın Metropolitan Mayor, who has been on trial for bid rigging for six years, joined the AKP right at the decision-making stage. This indictment is being slandered against the people held here, using phrases like "I heard," "I think," and "I think." The evil perpetrated by three or five AK Toroslar gang members is a crime. You brought these friends in for political reasons. Because you wanted İmamoğlu to not be a presidential candidate. No matter how much you dig, you won't find anything against us. Aziz İhsan Aktaş is working with roughly 380 positions. Özel also responded to a question about Lütfü Savaş's application to the court to cancel the provincial congresses during the CHP's 39th Ordinary Congress : "With so many problems facing the country, what that unnecessary figure did was absurd. This is the level of indigestion. One day, all of this will be called to account. There will be days when we will file a lawsuit. He barely knew Özgür Özel. One doesn't ask, 'Why are you being a pest to a pest?'"
