The Left Party will march in Fatsa

NEWS CENTER
The SOL Party 's marches, organized in every corner of the country and serving as a call for the people's united struggle against the one-man regime, will continue in the Fatsa district of Ordu.
The SOL Party, which calls for a united struggle around the people's problems, will march in Fatsa with the slogan "For labor, land and country" after its recent march against the "rare earth element reserve" in Eskişehir.
Having completed its visits to villages and tradesmen for the march to be held in Fatsa Cumhuriyet Square at 13:00 on Monday, October 27 (tomorrow), the SOL Party called on all citizens to participate.
The statement listed the demands, stating, "The Black Sea region, where agricultural frost and skunk infestations have become a disaster, should be declared a disaster area. Producers' debts should be deferred, and their losses should be compensated. Ferrero should be fired, and the occupation and exploitation of our lands should be ended. Producer cooperatives should be reestablished with an approach that gives producers a voice and decision-making power. Our call to producers against loan sharks, merchants, and imperialist monopolies is to halt sales until hazelnuts reach at least 600 TL."
Speaking to BirGün about the march, SOL Party PM member Ata Esen highlighted the problems producers have faced in the region that have remained unresolved for years. Esen said, “There has been a skunk problem in the Fatsa region for three years. This insect causes significant damage not only to fruits and vegetables, but especially to hazelnuts. As the SOL Party, we have been searching for ways to combat this problem for three years. We have established platforms and worked to raise public awareness. However, this devastation faced by hazelnut producers has been ignored for years. Yet, this situation is now a disaster, a catastrophic problem.” Esen continued, “With this year’s frost, producers have faced even greater hardship. The frost affected Turkey in general, but the damage in the Black Sea region is even more severe. In regions above 350 meters in altitude, almost no hazelnuts have been harvested. The combination of these two disasters has left producers completely helpless.”
Esen emphasized that the march wasn't just a one-day demonstration, but part of the ongoing struggle against agricultural policies: "The government's agricultural policies completely exclude producers. Its hazelnut policy similarly excludes the public. We know that until we get rid of this government, people involved in agriculture will not be happy. Therefore, our march isn't just about hazelnuts; it's also a political expression of resistance against this system of exploitation. We will continue this struggle with our actions and events in the region, to the best of our ability."
WE CAN SUCCEED TOGETHEREsen emphasized that the march was a call for a united struggle against the one-man regime, saying, "This is a common problem not only for the SOL Party, but also for producers, village associations, cemevis, and the public in the region. During this process, we visited villages, associations, and coffeehouses to meet with people. We wanted to culminate this work with a march. We can only defeat this reactionary regime together."
