Speaker of the Parliament , Numan Kurtulmuş , stated to the National Unity, Solidarity and Democracy Commission in the Turkish Grand National Assembly that the legal regulations in the process will come with the approval of the end of the dissolution process of the PKK .

Kurtulmuş's following words also became a subject of debate: "In Türkiye, the highest security authority of the state is the National Security Council. If this issue is discussed in the National Security Council and the National Security Council decides that the PKK is no longer an armed organization, it will strengthen the legal basis of this issue. That is my opinion as well."

AKP Spokesperson Ömer Çelik , who held a press conference, was asked about Kurtulmuş's remarks. Çelik stated that while there is a mechanism to confirm a termination process, the decision-making body rests with the President and AKP Chairman Erdoğan: "Ultimately, the confirmation mechanism, that is, the Turkish Armed Forces and the National Intelligence Organization, when I say I confirm this, and when we present it to our President as the head of our state, will this mechanism here be implemented through a government decision? If this information has been received and the disarmament has been completed, will this be implemented through a government decision? Or will it be implemented through a National Security Council (MGK) decision? This will be within the framework of a mechanism to be established at the discretion of our President."

The Democratic Party (DEM) had also called on the AKP to clarify its position on the meeting with PKK leader Öcalan. Çelik did not respond to this call, and no questions were asked about it. Meanwhile, the 17th meeting of the Solidarity, Brotherhood, and Democracy Commission, scheduled to be held in Parliament last week but postponed, will be held on Thursday.

Parliament Speaker Numan Kurtulmuş, stating that their work has reached its final stages, made the following statement in Istanbul: "After our national security institutions, primarily the National Intelligence Organization and the Ministry of National Defense, say, 'Yes, the organization has dissolved itself, and significant disarmament has been achieved on the ground,' Parliament will be able to make the necessary legal arrangements. Our primary duty as a commission is now to report. What was discussed, what the perspective is, and what proposals we will present to the General Assembly; we have held meetings with all parties, and preparations are being completed. Finally, we will produce a report."

Discussions are also on the agenda regarding whether the Commission will go to İmralı Island. Kurtulmuş stated that the Commission will make the decision on this matter, saying: "Such a step could be taken to complete the process. The Commission will make this decision; my personal opinion is not important."

EVERYONE SHOULD DO THEIR RESPONSIBILITY

DEM Party Co-Chair Tuncer Bakırhan commented on the process at a public meeting held in Osmaniye. Bakırhan stated that Devlet Bahçeli's handshake with the DEM Party delegation was a significant and courageous step: “It was a significant development; it was a game-changer. Just as Mr. Öcalan breaks the mold, makes genuinely new moves, and takes steps toward our brotherhood, peace, and humane, free, and fraternal coexistence, Mr. Bahçeli also took a very bold step at that time. By coming to our desks and shaking hands with us, he demonstrated Türkiye's will toward democracy, peace, and a solution to the Kurdish issue. We say that this will must continue. We emphasize that everyone should heed the will expressed on October 1st.”
